We are a team of dedicated local volunteers, certified in Adult and Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED and qualified to respond to medical emergencies in our area.
We work with local Tulare Fire volunteers, EMTs, Search & Rescue (SAR), the California Highway Patrol (CHP), and the National Forest Service (NFS) to stabilize emergency patients, respond to accidents, and locate and transport those in need.
In most cases, we are able to respond much sooner than other emergency services. We are also intimately familiar with the local terrain and conditions. Navigating our roads can be extremely challenging for ambulances, requiring us to help bridge the gap between those in need and the emergency services coming to assist them.
Snow conditions can become extreme in Kennedy Meadows, cutting off outside assistance and overwhelming snowplows. Ambulances and even helicopters may not be able to reach you for extended periods of time. Our team is not only composed of trained and certified responders; we are also experienced local residents who are accustomed to these conditions.
Thanks to your donations, we are able to equip our team with the necessary tools and equipment to help keep our local residents and visitors safe. Equipment such as gurneys, radios, mobile satellite internet, and snow-removal equipment allows us to coordinate with emergency services in areas where cell service and phone lines are not available.
